75 Years of SPINNER
SPINNER celebrats its 75th anniversary in 2021
75 Years of SPINNER
SPINNER dates back to the year 1946. That’s when our founder, Georg Spinner, hung out his shingle. Needless to say, a great deal has happened since then. We’ve evolved from a “one-man garage business” into a sprawling international enterprise with about 1000 employees worldwide and branches and dealerships in more than 40 countries.
Over the decades, the company has grown steadily and organically, in other words our expansion hasn’t been driven by mergers or acquisitions. We’ve consciously focused on boosting sales, increasing our productivity and profitability, and fostering a culture of innovation to ensure good future prospects and continued independence.

Our Founder and His Family-Run Company
Georg Spinner, a native of Munich who was born in 1921, began repairing radios soon after the end of World War II. Despite his young age, he was soon mastering thorny technical challenges and developing solutions for communications technology.
His passion was designing and building things, and doing so better than others. Dr. Spinner was an exceptionally talented inventor, which is documented by over 250 patents and the Rudolf Diesel Medal in Gold, the most prestigious accolade that can be bestowed on a German engineer.
The company’s leadership is now in its third generation, with his granddaughter, Katharina König, at the helm.
Our Philosophy
Visions start with asking questions. And for us, the most important question has always been: How can we help our customers achieve greater success with outstanding standard products and custom solutions?
Over 250 patents in 75 years
Throughout our 75-year history, R&D has consistently played a major role in driving our success. Our R&D facility is staffed by a team of talented, innovative individuals whose approach is more scientific than technical. They seek ways to implement the latest scientific breakthroughs in our product development departments, with a dedication that has generated a large number of patents.
